Well, Fall semester went out with a crash and a burn. I didn't do nearly as well as I had hoped, but there were just so many things going on last semester that it was hard to even focus in class much less be successful.
Over Christmas, I did a lot of thinking about what and how I wanted to improve for winter semester. I realized I really just needed to focus on being in school and being in Utah. It's already been a lot easier because I know my roommates, I know some people in my ward, and I've really come to terms with the fact that I was so blessed in high school to be as close to my friends as I was. I realize that friends like those don't happen very often, so I"m not trying to find friends like that here. Because there are now people for me to socialize with here, I'm not spending as much time texting friends or sitting on Facebook. { I am a social creature, people. Aloneness was not working out well for me. Thank goodness for technology. }
This semester is pretty busy. And by pretty busy, I mean super crazy busy. I'm taking 16 credits and working 16 hours a week, which basically means I am gone 8 to 5 everyday, either in class or at work. Then I come home and do homework. Thankfully, I finish at 1 on Fridays. That'll be my saving grace.
Goals this semester:
Focus in class
Stay on top of homework
Play my violin and the piano more {My roommates didn't even know I played violin till Sunday }
Make more friends
I still can't believe I'm at BYU. I am so incredibly blessed to be here, surrounded with such great opportunities. My professors are all great, especially now that I am taking some classes for my major ad I am starting to meet people with the same interests and goals as me.
I'm pretty content right now. Busy, but content.
